7 Fantastic Firefox 3 Add-ons That Work

Posted on 06 April 2008 by admin

I’ve been playing around with Firefox 3 (portable apps), and am looking forward to the final build. One of the reasons I have been using FF3 in portable form is because I’m still married to a few addons that have not been updated for the new version of Firefox. Below is a list of some of my favorite addons that work with FF3 B5

#1 Firebug 1.2

firebug

I am so excited this has been updated. I use Firebug more than any other add-on, and it should be used by every developer using Firefox.

#2 foxytunes

Do you listen to Music while surfing the Web? FoxyTunes lets you control almost any media player and find lyrics, covers, videos, bios and much more with a click right from your browser.

#3 All-in-one Sidebar

All-in-One Sidebar (AiOS) is an award-winning sidebar control, inspired by Opera’s. It lets you quickly switch between sidebar panels, view dialog windows such as downloads, extensions, and more in the sidebar, or view source or websites in the sidebar.

#4 StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon discovers web sites based on your interests, learns what you like and brings you more.

#5 Foxmarks

The Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer automatically synchronizes your bookmarks between two or more computers running Firefox. It also lets you access your bookmarks from any computer anytime via my.foxmarks.com. An easy-to-use wizard guides you through the quick startup process. Then Foxmarks works silently in the background to keep your bookmarks up-to-date on all your computers.

#6 Greasemonkey

Allows you to customize the way a webpage displays using small bits of JavaScript.

#7 Twitterfox

twitterfox

TwitterFox is a Firefox extension that notifies you of your friends’ tweets of Twitter. (former name is TwitterNotifier)

This extension adds a tiny icon on the status bar that notifies you when your friends update their tweets. Also it has a small text input field to update your tweets.

In addition to its chordal strums and damps, Nashville High-Strung Guitars includes a Martin D-18 Single String patch that offers individual notes over a five-octave range. You can use it to play acoustic guitar solos, but it's especially effective for producing alternating bass note patterns and passing notes when combined with the chord strums. Simply sequence the chords in one pass b5 music and the bass lines and fills in another pass.
  • Nice add-ons. Better to install this add-ons for the better browsing. Thanks for sharing.
  • Oh! Thanks a lot for sharing this fantastic add-ons! I find them very useful! Think I'm gonna install iTunes. Let me recommend you ImTranslator, it's also a cool, useful and small gadget. I just can't understand why the default language is Spanish?
  • I love Hyperwords! I use it along with Vimperator, another great firefox extension that is version 3 compatible and basically enables vi/vim-like control of firefox. Using it and Hyperwords under Firefox 3 and with my hands on the keyboard I am incredibly productive

Hyperwords is the one extension I can't live without. Web search on any highlighted word. Translate any highlighted word. Vast improvements over the typical copy/paste function and much more. Read more and get it at http://www.hyperwords.net/

I have used TwitterFox for some time, great Firefox add-on, particular after the latest update (1.5.3), TwitterFox now remember which twitter updates shown already so you don't see them repeated when you start Firefox next time. TwitterFox is recommended.

Foxmarks, another of my favourite add-ons.
