From Mashable:
Twitter is undoubtedly becoming one of the fastest growing social media tools in existence. As it continues to expand, so too does the diversity of its user base.
Whether you’re new to Twitter, a veteran user, or someone that is just interested, here’s a list of the 10 people you meet on Twitter. There may be more, but this is a great place to start.
Listropolis’ Take
I really like this list - or so I thought. The list is great, creative and original, but looking at the “People that do it right” tweeple, I thought I’d be quickly following new people. Thing is, none of the people really grabbed my attention enough to follow them. My favorite group was the list of celebrities, but even they didn’t do much for me - your mileage may very. If you’re new to Twitter, this will probably be an essential list for you - and will serve as a guide for what to watch out for. By the way, you can follow me on twitter here.

From insidecrm.com:
Twitter is a fun Web 2.0 communications tool that allows users to deliver quick messages of 140 characters or less. The hastiness and ephemeral nature of these messages means that Twitter has become more than a communication tool — it’s a source of angry, funny and awkward messages that would be sometimes best left unsaid. Whether they’re embarrassing or just interesting, these tweets are worth preserving.

If you use FriendFeed, your wait for a desktop client is finally over. If you also use Twitter, you’re going to love Alert Thingy! Alert Thingy runs on the Adobe Air platform, and I just installed it, and already, it’s become my favorite desktop client.
It’s a piece of cake to install, and it’s beautiful. You can “Comment” and “Like” right from the app, and as of today, you can also tweet. It doesn’t get much better than this.
So, can a list really be only one item long? Probably not, but alert thingy is too cool not to share. Download and enjoy.
Feel free to join me on either:

A Listropolis Original (yeah, we write lists too)
I’ll admit, I’m addicted to Twitter. It wasn’t love at first site (or second, or third for that matter), but after trying out a few different Twitter apps, I was hooked. I’ve listed 5 of the best Twitter apps I’ve used, but hope this post leads to other twitter apps being listed in the comments.
- TwitterFox - I’m currently using this app, and think it’s hands-down the best Twitter client available. It’s a Firefox extension that sits in your status bar, and is perfect if you have multiple twitter accounts. So far, the only downside I’ve seen is that it feels a little slow at updating, with the fastest refresh option being every 3 minutes. For me, TwitterFox is as close to perfect as I’ve seen.

- Twitterrific - This has been my go-to client in between all the other apps I’ve used. I always seem to come back to this app for its good looks, and simplicity. Sponsored links have been added recently, but they don’t take away from the overall experience. Twitterrific is from Iconfactory, and is Mac only.

- Tweetr - This is a nice little Adobe Air app that has a clean, simple interface, and it’s fun to use. I would probably still be using Tweetr, but Adobe Air doesn’t seem to play nicely with my Mac ATM. My favorite feature about Tweetr is the ability to transfer files using the built in urltea.

- Twitbin - For Firefox and Flock users. It sits in your sidebar and allows you to read/post tweets. I’m running low on screen real estate, so having it in the sidebar was a deal breaker - forcing me to use the already mentioned twitterfox.

- Pockettweets - This is a twitter app for the iPhone. You can view the latest tweets from your friends, update your status, or see what’s happening in the public timeline. — all via EDGE or WiFi. It has quick load times, and navigating the site is cake. To use pockettweets, just visit the above link with your iPhone.

This obviously isn’t a complete list, but these are my favorite apps that I’ve tried so far. If you have a favorite Twitter app, post a link in the comments.

From the Site:
I just created a new Twitter account, and it got me to thinking about all the data visualization I’ve seen for Twitter tweets. I felt like I’d seen a lot, and it turns out there are quite a few. Here they are grouped into four categories - network diagrams, maps, analytics, and abstract.
