In what can only be described as unbelievable, comedian Artie Lange, walks off the Howard Stern show today. Maybe using the word shocking in the title is a little dramatic, but this sudden departure comes as a huge surprise to most Stern fans.
Artie Lange has been with the Howard Stern since 2001, and has had many great moments, including my favorite, Artie getting ridiculously drunk in Las Vegas.
The show started fairly normal this morning, and Artie was planning to fly to Amsterdam with his assistant, Teddy, this afternoon. During a commercial break, Artie and Teddy got into an off-air argument about money, which Howard Stern heard about, and decided to bring it on-air. The fight escalated rapidly, and ended with Artie leaving the show, saying, “I’m not a good person … I gotta leave … I love you.”
The entire “on-air” argument can be heard below, and so this fits into the site, I have included a “list” of other sites discussing this.
I hope Artie comes back, but this sounds pretty final. Artie has seemed unhappy for months, and blames the show for his 100+ lb weight gain.
Here’s the audio from the show:
